CertainTeed Roofing Company in Fort Lauderdale: What to Know First
We’re an independent CertainTeed roofing company in Fort Lauderdale, and we repair and replace CertainTeed shingle, tile, and flat roof systems every week. Most CertainTeed repairs run $350 – $850, and most full replacements land between $9,500 and $24,000 depending on the product line and roof size. We give you a written price before any work starts, so you never find out the cost after the tear-off begins. This page is for Fort Lauderdale homeowners who already own a CertainTeed roof and need someone who actually knows how these systems behave in salt air, humidity, and hurricane season. Call (754) 732-9325 and we’ll walk the roof and tell you what’s really going on.

How CertainTeed Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
CertainTeed makes a lot of very good roofing products. But in Fort Lauderdale’s climate, a few specific failure patterns show up over and over. Here’s what we see, by product line, and what we do about it.
- Landmark shingles losing granules at the drip edge. Salt-laden air and a strong afternoon sun work on the adhesive strip where the shingle overhangs the gutter line. Once the granules go, the fiberglass mat underneath starts absorbing UV and water. We see this on Landmark and Landmark Pro roofs as early as year nine or ten. The fix is not a patch: we replace the affected shingles and check whether the drip edge itself was installed with proper overhang, which is often the root cause.
- Presidential Shake TL cupping and lifting. These are thick, heavyweight shingles and they look beautiful, but on Fort Lauderdale roofs with marginal ventilation, trapped heat makes them curl at the corners. It’s almost never a manufacturing defect. It’s attic heat and the wrong underlayment for our humidity. We correct the ventilation first, then reset or replace the lifted shingles. If we skip the ventilation, the same curl comes back in under two years.
- Flintlastic SA cap sheet splitting at seams. On flat and low-slope roofs, the self-adhered Flintlastic system is popular and generally solid. The weak point in Fort Lauderdale is at the lap seams, where prolonged heat plus standing water after a heavy summer downpour stresses the bond. We open these seams, clean them properly, and re-adhere with a primer that’s actually rated for our temperature swings. A patch without primer fails in months; we’d rather have the roof tested and the seam held properly.
- Highland Slate or Presidential Shake tile profiles cracking at the fastener points. CertainTeed’s synthetic and concrete tile lines are heavy. When the original installers used the wrong nail length or drove them too deep, the tile fractures around the fastener the first time a strong wind pressures it. We see this on tile roofs all over the Las Olas Isles area. The repair means removing the cracked piece and the surrounding tiles, checking the nail pattern underneath, and resetting everything so the load is distributed the way the manufacturer intended.
- WinterGuard underlayment degrading where flashing meets stucco. This is a Fort Lauderdale-specific issue. CertainTeed’s WinterGuard is a good ice and water shield, but around chimneys, roof-to-wall intersections, and skylights, the junction between the membrane and the stucco fails when the original crew didn’t seal the top edge. Water gets behind the stucco and travels down. The fix is cutting a proper reglet, tucking the membrane, and sealing it. It’s fiddly work and it’s precisely where most sloppy crews leave a leak.
One thing worth saying plainly: almost none of these failures are CertainTeed’s fault. Every manufacturer makes products that fail when they’re installed wrong or when the house underneath them is fighting the roof. Our job is to figure out which one it is and fix it honestly.

Our CertainTeed Roofing Company Process
When you call us about a CertainTeed roof in Fort Lauderdale, here’s exactly what happens, start to finish. Greg Holloway walks the jobs himself and works the way you’d expect a roofer to work if he actually respected your time.
- 1
The call. A live person answers, day or night. You tell us what you’re seeing: a leak, a lifted shingle, granules in the gutter, a dark stain on the ceiling. We schedule a visit and give you a window we actually keep.
- 2
The roof walk. We get up there and inspect not just the visible damage but the surrounding area, the flashing, the ventilation, and the decking. CertainTeed roofs fail for reasons that aren’t always obvious from the ground, so this walk matters.
- 3
The written price. Before we pull a single nail, you get a line-item price in writing. If it’s a repair, you know exactly what we’re doing and what it costs. If it’s a replacement, you know the full scope. No change orders at the door, no surprises at the end.
- 4
The work. Background-checked, uniformed techs do the repair or replacement. We use CertainTeed OEM parts when they matter for a warranty claim, and we’ll tell you honestly when a quality aftermarket flashing or sealant is the smarter call. We don’t hide that conversation; we explain it.
- 5
The test. We water-test repairs where we can and make sure the roof actually sheds water the way it should. Then we walk you through what we did and why.
- 6
The written guarantee. Every repair gets a written guarantee before we leave your driveway, not mailed a week later. And under the 365-Day Done Right Promise, if a repair fails inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge.
We tell you the price before we touch your roof. That’s just how it should work.

AfterWhat CertainTeed Roofing Company Costs in Fort Lauderdale
Here are the numbers we give homeowners in Fort Lauderdale when they ask what CertainTeed work actually costs. These are real ranges, not teaser prices.
- Minor shingle repair, Landmark or Landmark Pro: $350 – $550
- Flashing repair around chimney or skylight: $400 – $700
- Flat roof seam repair, Flintlastic SA: $500 – $850
- Tile repair, Highland Slate, per tile or small section: $250 – $600
- Full replacement, Landmark shingle, typical 2,200 sq ft home: $9,500 – $14,500
- Full replacement, Presidential Shake TL: $16,000 – $24,000
What moves the price? Decking condition, roof pitch, whether we’re pulling permits, and how much flashing work is involved. Two-story homes cost more because of access. Homes along the water might need stainless steel fasteners instead of galvanized, and we’ll tell you that upfront in the written estimate. Call (754) 732-9325 for an exact quote. Estimates are free, and the number we give you is the number we honor.

Why Fort Lauderdale Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Fort Lauderdale for CertainTeed Work
Most of the people who call us have already had one bad roofing experience, which is why we built the company the way we did. You get a written price before any work starts, every time, and that price doesn’t change at the door. You get a written guarantee on every repair, in your hand before the crew leaves. If a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. We also answer the phone with a live person 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. You call, a human picks up, and we schedule the visit. No voicemail roulette. And while we’re a certain CertainTeed service provider, we also carry GAF, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral, so we’re not forcing one brand into a roof it was never designed for. Greg Holloway and his crew have been working on Fort Lauderdale roofs long enough to know exactly how this city’s weather treats a shingle, a tile, or a flat seam.
FAQs
No, not when the repair is done by a competent contractor using manufacturer-approved methods and materials. As an independent CertainTeed service provider, we follow the install and repair guidelines for each product line, so your warranty stays intact as long as the original installation was done correctly. We can tell you on the roof walk whether a warranty claim is worth pursuing or whether a straight repair makes more sense.
We schedule most roof walks within one to three days of your call, and for an active leak we’ll get to you as quickly as the schedule allows. Call (754) 732-9325 and tell us what’s happening. We’ll get you on the calendar and, if it’s an emergency, we’ll help you tarp or temporarily stop the water until we can get up there.
Both, and we tell you which we’re using and why. When the repair touches a component that affects the warranty, certain CertainTeed OEM parts are the right call. When it’s a flashing detail or a sealant, sometimes a quality aftermarket product does the job better in Fort Lauderdale’s salt air and heat. We explain the trade-off in plain language and let you decide with the facts in hand.
If the decking is sound and the damage is isolated, repair. If the shingles are granule-bald across multiple slopes or the underlayment is failing in more than one area, replacement makes more sense. In Fort Lauderdale, a roof that’s fighting the humidity and the sun every single day doesn’t forgive deferral. We’ll tell you the truth either way, with a written price for both options if you want it.
No. The written price you get before the job is the price you pay unless you ask us to do additional work. If we find something hidden during the repair, like rotted decking under the shingles, we stop, show you what we found, and quote the added work before we do it. No surprise invoices at the end of the job.
If you own a CertainTeed roof in Fort Lauderdale and something’s not right, call (754) 732-9325. We’ll walk the roof, tell you what’s really happening, and put the price in writing before anything gets done. That’s the way it should work, and that’s the way we do it.
