Atlas Shingle Repair: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
Atlas shingle repair in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $395 to $980 installed for a standard section repair, and our trucks carry Atlas-compatible shingles in the most common Fort Lauderdale colorways for same-week scheduling. Most homeowners discover a failed Atlas shingle the same way: a water stain on the ceiling, granules collecting in the gutter, or a shingle tab sitting in the yard after a summer squall. You don’t need to know the exact series name. You just need someone who can match the shingle, fix the section, and give you a number before touching the roof.

We carry Atlas Pinnacle and Atlas StormMaster shingles for spot repairs. Pinnacle Pristine is the more common line on Fort Lauderdale homes. StormMaster has the higher-wind rating, so if your shingles inspected for the current Florida Building Code, that’s likely what the roofer installed. We also keep Atlas glass-mat sealant and the matching hip and ridge caps, because a section repair that doesn’t blend at the ridge looks like exactly what it is: a patch.
Which Atlas Models This Applies To
This repair guide applies to Atlas Pinnacle Pristine, Pinnacle Impact, StormMaster Shake, StormMaster Slate, and the discontinued Atlas Chalet line. The compatibility gotcha most Florida homeowners hit is the shingle width. Atlas architectural shingles run 13 1/4 inches wide with a 5 5/8 inch exposure. Older three-tab Atlas measured 12 inches with a 5 inch exposure. If a roofer slaps a 13 1/4 inch architectural shingle onto a roof built with 12 inch three-tabs, the exposure lines will visibly drift within a few rows. It looks wrong immediately, and it leaks sooner than it should.
When we walk a repair estimate in Fort Lauderdale, we measure the existing exposure and check the underside of any loose shingle for the Atlas stamp before we quote a price. That’s why we don’t give numbers over the phone without seeing the roof first. The wrong width or the wrong series changes the quote by the cost of redoing the whole slope instead of a single repair.
On OEM vs. aftermarket: Atlas shingles are made to work with Atlas sealant and Atlas hip and ridge caps. We install genuine Atlas shingle for Atlas repairs. Aftermarket equivalents from Tamko or CertainTeed will shed water, but the color match will not be exact, and the nail line won’t align the same way. Greg Holloway has watched enough homeowners try to save $40 on a bundle of “close enough” shingles and end up with a visible patch they look at every time they pull into the driveway. We’d rather tell you the real price for the right material up front.

Signs Your Atlas Shingle Repair Is Failing
- Granules in your gutters or downspouts, especially after rain. Atlas shingles lose mineral granules as the asphalt weathers. A heavy accumulation in one downspout usually means one slope is shedding faster than the rest, and that’s often the slope that catches the harshest afternoon sun in Fort Lauderdale.
- Shingle corners lifting, curling, or cupping. Florida’s heat bakes the asphalt and breaks the bond between the shingle’s reinforcement mat and its coating. Once the corners lift, water can push underneath and find the nail line.
- A water stain on the ceiling that darkens after heavy rain. This is rarely a plumbing leak. Roof water travels, so the stain doesn’t sit directly below the failed shingle. We find the entry point by walking the roof, not by staring at the ceiling stain.
- Shingle tabs in the yard after a storm. Atlas StormMaster is rated for high wind, but any shingle will tear if the nail pattern was wrong at installation. When a tab blows off, the shingle below it is now exposed at the nail line, and the next storm pulls more material.
- Bald spots or exposed fiberglass mat where granules used to be. Once you see the mat, the shingle is in its final stage. It will not recover. Repairs done before this point cost less and leave less of a color patch, because the surrounding shingles are still in better shape.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s where Fort Lauderdale pricing lands, based on the repairs we quote every week:
- Single shingle replacement: $150 – $250 installed
- Section repair (up to 100 sq ft, matching Atlas shingles, sealant, and nails): $395 – $650 installed
- Larger repair with decking and underlayment replacement: $700 – $980 installed
- Full Atlas re-roof (comparable reference): generally $6,500 – $11,000 for a typical Fort Lauderdale single-family home – we quote this separately, never as a surprise upsell
The range is driven by roof pitch, how many slopes are involved, whether the decking beneath is still sound, and whether the repair is near a valley, wall, or chimney. Steep roofs and repairs around flashing take longer and cost more. Every quote we write includes the Atlas-compatible shingles, nails, sealant, roof cement where needed, and haul-away of torn-off material. You get a written price before any work starts. If we find hidden decking during the repair, we stop and show you before we add a dollar.

We stand behind the repair with a written guarantee, delivered before the crew leaves. If the repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. And if the repair fails, we replace the section, we don’t caulk over it and call it done.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things from the ground before you call: look for missing tabs, shine a light into the gutter to check granule buildup, and check the attic for wet insulation in one concentrated spot. What we don’t recommend is climbing onto a Fort Lauderdale shingle roof after it’s been baking in the sun. Shingles soften in Florida heat, a pry bar slips, and a fall from even a single-story roof will change your whole year. We’ve also seen homeowners lift a shingle to peek underneath and crack the sealant strip that was keeping that shingle attached. The repair goes from a small material fix to replacing multiple shingles because the seal broke.
If you’re comfortable walking the roof and you’ve done it before, you can buy a bundle of Atlas shingles from a local supply house. The tradeoff is that a mismatched bundle is your problem forever. If you’d rather have a matching repair with a written guarantee, call us at (754) 732-9325 and we’ll walk the roof ourselves and hand you a written quote before anything gets touched. We tell you the price before we touch your roof. That’s just how it should work.
FAQs
Atlas architectural shingles carry a 30 year manufacturer warranty in most climates, but Fort Lauderdale roofs realistically reach repair territory around 18 to 22 years because of UV exposure, salt air, and summer rain cycles. Coastal homes along the Las Olas Isles tend to age shingles a few years faster than inland Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods. If your roof is over 18 years old and you’re chasing repairs, we’ll say so plainly and give you a comparison: repair cost now, or full replacement budget for planning purposes. Call (754) 732-9325 for a free estimate.
Yes, if the surrounding shingles still have their granules and their sealant strips are intact. A repair is the right call when the damage is localized to one area, one slope, or one leak point. If we walk the roof and find shingles lifting in multiple places, we’ll tell you honestly, because a series of $600 repairs on a dying roof adds up faster than the replacement number. Call (754) 732-9325 and we’ll give you the straight comparison.
Most section repairs take 2 to 4 hours once the crew is on site. If decking needs to be replaced underneath, the repair may stretch to 5 or 6 hours and we may need a second visit for inspection after the decking dries. We schedule a window and call when we’re on the way. We don’t leave the job until the ground is clean and you’ve been shown the written guarantee. Call (754) 732-9325 to check our current schedule for Fort Lauderdale repairs.
We stock the most common Atlas Pinnacle and StormMaster colorways in our Fort Lauderdale trucks, along with the matching Atlas sealant, nails, and hip and ridge caps. Less common colorways may require a supply house order, which usually adds a day. We’ll tell you which situation you’re in when we give you the written quote. Call (754) 732-9325 and we’ll match your shingle before we quote so there are no surprises.
