Atlas Roof Replacement in Fort Lauderdale: What to Know First
Atlas roof replacement in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $11,500 to $28,000 for a full tear-off and reroof on an average single-family home, depending on the Atlas line you choose and the condition of your decking. Most Atlas replacements take 2 to 4 working days once materials land, and we give you a written price before anything gets torn off. We’re an independent Atlas service provider, not an Atlas dealer or authorized installer, which means we pick materials based on what your house actually needs, not what a manufacturer program tells us to push.

This page is for Fort Lauderdale homeowners whose Atlas roof has reached the end of its useful life, or whose Atlas shingles failed earlier than they should have. If you’re looking at curled shingles, granule loss in your gutters, or leaks that keep coming back after patch jobs, you’re in the right place. Call (754) 732-9325 and we’ll walk the roof with you.
How Atlas Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
- Atlas Pinnacle Pristine granule shedding. We see Pinnacle Pristine shingles on a lot of Fort Lauderdale homes, and the most common complaint is heavy granule loss within the first 8 to 12 years. The cause is usually not the shingle itself but the combination of intense UV exposure and salt air breaking down the asphalt layer faster than inland climates. Granules end up in gutters and downspouts, and once the asphalt is exposed, the shingle cooks from the top down. The fix is a full replacement, because patching individual shingles on a roof that’s shedding this way just moves the leak around.
- Atlas StormMaster Slate cracking at the nail line. StormMaster Slate is a heavier architectural shingle that looks great, but on Fort Lauderdale homes with older decking we find nail-line cracking. The shingles are rigid, and when the plywood decking underneath flexes from humidity cycling, the shingle can’t flex with it. The crack forms right where the nail holds it down. We always replace suspect decking before installing this line, and we check the attic ventilation because trapped moisture makes the flexing worse.
- Atlas GlassMaster seal strip failure. GlassMaster is a budget-friendly Atlas line, and its seal strip is the weak point. In Fort Lauderdale’s afternoon thunderstorms, wind-driven rain gets under shingles whose seal strip didn’t fully bond. You’ll see shingles lifted at the corners, especially on the south-facing slopes that get the most sun. When we replace a GlassMaster roof, we hand-seal the starter course and any shingles on exposed rakes, because that’s where wind gets its first purchase.
- Atlas Chalet scalloped shingle blow-offs. Chalet is the scalloped-edge Atlas line, and it’s a distinctive look on some of the older Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods. The scalloped edge is also a wind catch. After a tropical storm, we get calls about Chalet shingles missing from the rake and eave lines. The original install often used standard nail placement instead of the wider nail line Atlas specifies for this shingle. We follow Atlas’s published nail pattern exactly, and we use six nails per shingle on anything within a mile of the coast.
- Atlas AC Foam polyiso underlayment delamination. This one’s less visible but more expensive when it fails. Atlas AC Foam is a polyiso insulation board used under flat roofing systems, and we see it on flat-roof sections of Fort Lauderdale homes, often over enclosed porches or additions. Salt air and trapped humidity cause the facer to separate from the foam core, which creates soft spots you can feel underfoot. By the time you feel them, the board is done. We replace the affected sections and re-cover with the appropriate membrane, not just another layer of coating over failing foam.

Our Atlas Roof Replacement Process
- 1
The walk. Greg Holloway walks your roof himself. He’s looking at shingle condition, flashing, drip edge, decking, and attic ventilation. You get his read on what’s failing and why, in plain language.
- 2
The written price. Before any work starts, you have a line-item price in your hands. It covers tear-off, disposal, decking replacement if needed, underlayment, shingles, flashing, ridge cap, and cleanup. No change orders at the door.
- 3
The parts decision. We use Atlas components that are part of the system you’re buying, and we’ll tell you when a quality aftermarket part makes more sense than an OEM one. Flashings, ridge vents, and drip edge are all on the table. You decide with full information.
- 4
The work. Our crew is background-checked and uniformed. We tear off, inspect decking, replace what needs replacing, install the underlayment and shingles to Atlas’s published specs, and flash every penetration correctly.
- 5
The walkthrough. When we’re done, we walk the roof with you if you want, show you the finished work, and hand you the written guarantee before the crew leaves.

Why Fort Lauderdale Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Fort Lauderdale for Atlas Work
Most of our Atlas replacements come after another roofing company already failed the homeowner once. We know that pattern, and we built our process to end it. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if something’s not right within a year, we come back and fix it. Your guarantee is in writing and it’s in your hands before we leave. Your call gets answered by a live person at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m., and we arrive in the window we gave you. Greg and the crew know Atlas products specifically, but we’re not locked into them. If a GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed system fits your home and your budget better, we’ll tell you that, because we install from seven major manufacturers and the product should fit the house, not the truck. We tell you the price before we touch your roof. That’s just how it should work.
FAQs
No. The Atlas shingle warranty applies to the materials themselves, not the installer who puts them on. As an independent Atlas service provider, we install to Atlas’s published specifications, which is what the material warranty actually requires. Our workmanship warranty is separate, in writing, and covers our labor for a full year under the 365-Day Done Right Promise.
If your Atlas shingles are shedding granules, cracking, or lifting at the edges across multiple slopes, replacement is usually cheaper than repeated repairs. If you can see the fiberglass mat through worn spots, or if you’re past year 15 on an Atlas GlassMaster or Pinnacle roof in Fort Lauderdale’s sun and salt air, a repair will be a temporary patch. Call (754) 732-9325 and we’ll give you an honest read after walking the roof.
Most full Atlas replacements in Fort Lauderdale take 2 to 4 working days from tear-off to final cleanup. The roof pitch, the number of layers being removed, and how much decking needs replacing all affect the timeline. We give you a schedule in writing with your estimate.
For most Fort Lauderdale homes, Pinnacle Pristine is the sweet spot: good wind resistance, a decent warranty, and a price that doesn’t make your eyes water. If you’re within a mile of the coast, we recommend StormMaster Slate or another high-wind line with six-nail installation. For budget-conscious rentals or flips, GlassMaster works if installed correctly, though it won’t last as long in this climate.
Yes. We pull the permit on every full roof replacement in Fort Lauderdale, and the job gets inspected and signed off before we call it done. It’s part of the price you see in writing before work starts.
