IKO Roof Repair in Fort Lauderdale: What to Know First

IKO roof repair in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $300 to $850 for most shingle, flashing, and leak jobs, with repairs generally completed within one to three days of inspection. We’re an independent IKO service provider and we give you a written price before any work starts. If you’re seeing dark streaks on ceilings, granules in your gutters, or shingles lifting at the edges, call us at (754) 732-9325 and we’ll walk the roof ourselves before recommending anything.

This page is for Fort Lauderdale homeowners whose IKO roof is leaking, losing shingles, or showing its age in the salt air and summer downpours we get along the coast. Greg Holloway and our crew have repaired hundreds of IKO roofs from the Las Olas Isles to Coral Ridge, so we know what these particular shingles do in this particular climate. No pressure, no guesswork. Just a straight answer and a fair number.

How IKO Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

  • Cambridge shingle lifting at the seal strip. This is the IKO issue we see most in Fort Lauderdale. The Cambridge line uses a laminated seal-down adhesive, and after several seasons of intense UV and humidity cycling, that adhesive can lose grip, especially on south-facing slopes. We lift the affected shingles, clean the seam, re-seal with an approved adhesive, and check the surrounding course so one lifted shingle doesn’t become ten. Most homeowners catch this as “a shingle that flaps in the wind” long before it leaks.
  • Granule loss on the Dynasty series. Dynasty is IKO’s heavier architectural line, and it wears differently than the lighter Cambridge. In Fort Lauderdale, we see granule shedding concentrated along drip edges and valleys where water channels hardest during summer thunderstorms. We inspect the underlayment beneath worn areas, because IKO shingles can look fine on top while the real damage is happening underneath. If the underlying mat is exposed, we replace the affected shingles rather than coating over them.
  • Valley leaks at the Marathon and Nordic intersections. Older IKO roofs in Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods like Victoria Park and Rio Vista often use Marathon or Nordic shingles, and their valleys are where water volume during a Florida afternoon storm exceeds what the original woven installation can handle. We re-lay valley flashing with proper overlap and re-bed the shingles so water moves down, not sideways. This is one repair where doing it the OEM way matters, because an aftermarket shortcut here fails the same season.
  • Vent boot and pipe collar failures around IKO shingle runs. The rubber gaskets on pipe collars and vent boots crack from salt air and UV exposure long before the IKO shingles around them fail. When we see a ceiling stain under a bathroom vent stack, it’s usually the boot, not the shingle. We replace the collar, re-seat the surrounding IKO shingles, and seal the seam with a compatible adhesive that won’t react with the shingle mat.
  • Flat roof patches on IKO low-slope applications. Fort Lauderdale homes on the Las Olas Isles often have flat or low-slope roof sections done in IKO’s self-adhered or torch-down membranes. These fail at seams and pitch transitions, especially where standing water dries and re-wets repeatedly. We cut out the cracked section, apply a heat-welded patch, and re-seal the transition edges. The repair is stronger than the original in those spots because we re-enforce the seam that failed the first time.

Our IKO Roof Repair Process

  1. 1
Call and talk to a person. A live person answers at (754) 732-9325, any day, any hour. You describe the problem, we ask a few questions, and we schedule a time we’ll actually keep.
  2. 2
Greg or a senior tech walks the roof. We don’t diagnose leaks from the driveway. We look at the IKO shingles, the flashing, the valleys, the boots, the decking underneath where we can see it. We photograph everything.
  3. 3
You get a written price before any work starts. The number covers the repair, the materials, the cleanup. If we find the job is bigger than expected during the repair, we stop and call you before spending a dollar more.
  4. 4
We fix it with compatible materials. For IKO shingle replacements, we match the line and color as closely as possible. For fasteners and adhesives, we use products that work with IKO’s mat composition, not just whatever’s on the truck.
  5. 5
We test it. After the repair, we run a controlled water test where we can, and we re-inspect the surrounding area to make sure we haven’t disturbed a healthy section.
  6. 6
You get a written guarantee before we leave. Every repair is covered in writing. If the repair fails inside the guarantee period, we’re back at no charge under our 365-Day Done Right Promise.

What IKO Roof Repair Costs in Fort Lauderdale

  • Leak repair, single point of entry: $300 to $550
  • Shingle replacement, up to 10 shingles: $350 to $500
  • Flashing repair around chimney, skylight, or wall: $400 to $700
  • Vent boot or pipe collar replacement: $250 to $400
  • Valley repair, including re-laying and re-sealing: $500 to $850
  • Flat roof patch, IKO membrane: $400 to $750

What moves the price: roof pitch (steeper costs more to work on safely), story height, the number of shingle layers we have to remove to get to the decking, and whether we need to open up a section to find the actual leak. Some Fort Lauderdale roofs need decking replacement once we open them, particularly in older homes near the Intracoastal where salt air has been working on the plywood for decades. Call (754) 732-9325 for a free estimate, and we’ll give you a written number before any work starts.

Why Fort Lauderdale Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Fort Lauderdale for IKO Work

Most of our IKO repair calls come from homeowners who already tried someone else once. That’s not an accident. Greg Holloway grew up in Los Angeles and learned his first roofing skills at the construction trades program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending nearly three decades working roofs from the ground up. He walks every Fort Lauderdale job himself before a single nail is pulled. We tell you the price before we touch your roof. That’s just how it should work.

We’re part of the Kingswell family of roofing companies, founded in 2000, and that gives us something most independent IKO repair crews don’t have: genuine material choice. If your IKO roof needs repair, we fix the IKO. If the inspection reveals that a replacement or partial reroof makes more sense, we can quote GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Atlas, Tamko, or Boral, alongside IKO, so you never get talked into a single house brand because it’s all the contractor carries. Every repair carries a written guarantee, and if it fails inside the guarantee period, we come back at no charge.
